Isdell House garden – BirdLife South Africa
BirdLife South Africa’s head office garden was designed specifically to attract birds. It features a variety of habitats with over 150 species of indigenous plants. A large section mimics the local highveld grassland habitat around Johannesburg, with local grassland flora.
Front garden. The hardscaping was designed by Landmark Studios, Johannesburg. The bottom wetland. The hardscaping was done by Keith Nevin, Hard Landscape Enterprises. Top wetland. The majority of the plants were donated by Random Harvest Nursery. Witkoppen Wildflower Nursery, Grow Wild Nursery and Wildflower Wholesale Nursery donated and provided plants. GardenShop donated garden furniture and feature pots. Highveld grassland section. Rand Water donated many grasses.

This garden won a South African Landscapers Institute (SALI) gold award in 2017 in the environmental landscape work category.
